Dated: 1810 Burslem Staffordshire
A Jasperware felsparic bodied bough pot of superior quality with an elaborate dome cover with a flower finial. The decoration of the mustard colored ground center panel shows a cherub in flight over a goat pulling a chariot. The main body is profusely covered with leaves and grapes; there are classical type features on each side of the oval center panel.The maker of this highly decorative and rare piece is Daniel Steel, his Scotia works were located in St. James Street, Burslem, Staffordshire operating from 1790-1824.A similar piece with a blue Wedgwood type ground is currently available in our stock please enquire for a price for the two.
