Dated: 1760 Staffordshire England UK

The stoneware teapot with original cover is a globular shape and decorated in enamel colors and a saltglaze.The chinoiserie type decoration is profusely and expertly applied to show a female musician and a male figure admiring plants in a garden urn while holding a fan. Flowers and leaves adorn the piece which has crabstock handle and spout, a feature of early pottery of the mid 18th century.

Current Condition: Good restoration at the tip of the spout and to the cover.
