This late 18th century English brown stoneware jug is modeled with images of trees, hunting scenes, and a central panel of the Punch Party probably inspired by Hogarth's print titled Midnight Modern Conversation. A handsome piece in outstanding order and enhanced with a silver rim with the inscription "Sacred to Friendship for Mirth & Mild Ale."The pitcher was made in London and most probably the work from the Kishere Pottery located at Mortlake.
