Kurdish rug made by a Sanjabi Kurdish weaver in the early part of the 20th century. Six rows of two concentric lozenges with hooked patterns form the main body of the field which is on a blue ground. The bands of lozenges are separated by strips of geometric designs alternating between a continuous pattern of crosses and a string of octagons filled with simple angular motifs. These strips are flanked by half diamonds also found in Jaf Kurdish weavings. A meandering oak leaf design forms the pattern in the main border on an apricot ground.
