A rare pair of mid 19th century Black Forest Carvings showing a man with all his creature comforts - flagon of ale, pipe, his cat at his feet and dog asleep at his side. The 2nd carving shows a lady of easy virtue, perhaps there to satisfy his other needs.

Mahogany Campaign Armchair.
This rare Officer's mahogany Armchair breaks down very quickly for packing. The legs fold with a concertina action, once the drop in seat has been removed and unscrewing the arm bolts allows the hinged back to drop down against the back legs. The iron fittings to each leg were made to bear carrying struts, to give the chair a further use. A chair working to the same principles is illustrated in British Campaign Furniture by Nicholas Brawer. Early to mid 19th century. We always have a large number of campaign and travel items in stock.
Dimensions assembled H. 35 Þ ins. W. 20 ins. D. 19 ins.
