Gabrielle Réjane was the stage name of Gabrielle-Charlotte Reju (1856 – 1920) a French stage and silent film actress.
She is most famous for her role of Catherine in Sarou’s play “Madame Sans-Gene” in 1893.
She studied under Régnier at the Conservatoire and took the second prize for comedy in 1874. Her first great success in 1883 was in Ma camarade by Henri Meilhac and following which she was then regarded as a talented emotional actress of rare gifts. She was awarded a Knight of the Legion of Honor shortly before she died.
