Raised Work Embroidery 2nd Half 17th Century.
This panel features the head of Goddess Flora contained within an elaborate cartouche consisting of silk-wrapped parchment imitating laurel leaves and further embellished with Nelham type scrolls of purl and metallic threads.
Embroidered on a cream satin weave silk ground, each corner with large floral blooms with a chase, small insects and a rocky pool.
