Christopher Clarke (Antiques) LimitedAnglo Indian Campaign Side Table (c. 1875 Anglo Indian)
Teak
Description / Expertise The legs of this Anglo Indian teak Side Table fold as two pairs when the stretcher bar that unites them is removed. The bar is held by brass bolts with large thumb grips and has cutout joints to fit over the short stretchers. The bolts fit through brass plates on the bar to screw into further plates on the short stretchers. When folded the legs are off set to fold one pair over the other. The table is well made with open mortise joints to the legs and a simple moulding to the table top’s edge. The small size is also practical for a number of uses. Late 19th century.
