Description / Expertise

The size of this brass and glass travel inkwell is probably the smallest we have seen. The model was very popular in the early to mid 19th century as the square shape would fit neatly into a writing slope without moving about during travel. The cap bolts down to prevent any spillage. A simple but practical design. Early to mid 19th Century.
