Regency Flame Mahogany Tea Caddy with tulipwood crossbandings surrounding the top & front. The sides of Sarcophagus Shaped Tea Caddy have brass lion mask handles and lion pad feet.

The tea caddy interior features two bone handled wooden lids with a flame mahogany veneer and tulipwood crossbanding mirroring the exterior, both lids sit above two foil lined tea compartments to keep the tea fresh.

This regency two compartment tea caddy comes with a fully working lock with bone escutcheon, and a tasselled key.

Mahogany is the name given to many types of tropical hardwood and can be found in Africa, India and South America, most of which are a red-brown colour with a fine, even grain. This makes it easily workable and gives it a durable finish which attributes to its popularity with many kinds of furniture.
