Description / Expertise

The rectangular reeded ebony frame is decorated on all four concerns with stained red tortoise shell panels and ivory borders. The red tortoise shell sleeve is veneered in vertical sections and divided by corner squares and ivory borders. The original mercy plate is mounted by an undulating solid ebony moulding.
