Description / Expertise

A portait of the Rajahs of the Rajputana States by Simon Harmon Vedder, an American artist who spent several years in London and was then commissioned by the British Government to make portraits of the Rajputana Princes. The portraits were then presented to the Mayo College at Ajmer, where many of the Rajahs had been educated. The paintings were bought to London for an Exhibition and then some went to the Paris Salon and then back to Mayo College.
