Description / Expertise
Pair of Staffordshire figures of spaniels seated with best gold decoration.
This pottery model in in my view the best one produced by the Staffordshire potters of spaniels. The modelling is exceptional with good attention to detail. The dogs coat is well defined with curls. The figures have well modelled tails which sweep around the body of the dog, and the head is a characterful rendition with appealing eyes and pink noses with whiskers. The front leg is modelled seperatley from the body always a good sign of a quality figure.
