Robert Gallon
(1845-1925)

A London born landscape painter, the son of the London genre and portrait painter and lithographer Robert Samuel Ennis Gallon (fl 1830-1868), Robert Gallon painted landscapes throughout England Scotland and Wales in a naturalistic realistic style similar to that of B W Leader and Vicat Cole. He always worked out of doors and his paintings, executed with great fluency, always seem to capture the atmosphere of moment. Gallon exhibited in London between 1868 and 1903, including 32 paintings at the Royal Academy between 1873 and 1903, and 17 paintings at the British Institution.
