Description / Expertise
A superb Adam style Carved pine and Composition Fire Surround with a moulded shelf above a superbly detailed frieze flanked by highly detailed Corinthian Columns, the opening with a carved border and the whole raised on a black marble/ slate hearth. Althought the quality, size and detail are all commensurate with an Adam Period Fire Surround in the Neo-Classical manner and dating from the last quarter of the 18th. Century, it is our opinion that this is probably a century later and is a revival example.
