Description / Expertise

A very small, mid 19th century 8-day English timepiece with engraved and silvered dial and satinwood case.

The 8-day, 4-pillar, movement has a single chain driven fusee and an anchor escapement.

The rectangular (3¼ x 3¾ inches), engraved and silvered dial has blued steel hands.
The rectangular case is veneered with satinwood on a mahogany carcass and stands on bun shaped feet. The case has bevelled glass to the top and sides with flat glass to the front and rear doors. The front door is set with a silvered sight ring.

Case height 7½ inches.
