Description / Expertise

A very fine and quite unusual 17th Century 'Square' Oak Double Gateleg Dining Table with the leaf-plank shrinkage being retained by contemporary underbearers. The splendid base with its double gates to provide additional stability has excellent baluster and ring turnings to all horizontal and vertical runs with the legs terminating in ball feet and the twin-arched end friezes have removeable central acorns. This delightful and highly practical table has a good dark mature colour and 'well-used' patina.
